UL releases 2005
Decorative Lighting String — No Strike List

UL has released its "2005 Decorative Lighting String — No Strike List", which identifies decorative lighting string applicants whose randomly tested products have demonstrated compliance under UL's ongoing surveillance programs. Under UL's Follow-Up Services program, if UL finds a major failure, an applicant is denied to apply the UL Mark and is issued a program nonconformance known as a "strike". Applicants receiving no Strike for the last three consecutive years are added to the "Decorative Lighting String — No Strike List". To view the No Strike List, visit www.ul.com/wire/decorative.html

CB Scheme Rule Changes

Two CB Scheme rule changes were decided at the June 2005 IECEE Certification Management Committee (CMC) Meeting. First, the CMC made the decision that only one brand name should be covered on each CB Test Certificate. This means even if the same CB Test Report is applicable to multiple brand names, a new CB Test Certificate must be issued for each brand name.
Second, the CMC decided that, after January 2006, partial content of issued CB Test Certificates become available to the public at the CB Scheme Internet Site at http://domino.iec.ch/cbtestcert. This includes reference number, name of issue, date of issue, model and type of product and the IEC standard(s) referenced.

The NCBs in UL's global family of companies will make the implementations effective on January 1, 2006.UL Logo
