UL India poised to fulfill increasing conformity assessment needs

UL India’s office in Kodihalli, Bangalore. India becomes one of Asia Pacific’s fastest growing economies, charting a seven per cent annual growth. A versatile and highly educated workforce at competitive costs has been its advantage and that has won India the reputation as a global manufacturing and outsourcing hub.

With confidence in production capabilities in place, manufacturers are ready to foray into the global market with quality and cost competitiveness. As demonstrating safety compliance is not only essential but also adds to the product’s marketability, more and more manufacturers are looking for testing and certification services from reputable third-party organizations.

In most cases, large US and European buyers would specify a trustworthy certification provider to address compliance needs before entering into outsourcing agreements with their suppliers in India.

“UL is in a unique position to assist manufacturers in delivering truly global products to the global marketplace,” said Sajeev Jesudas, UL’s president & managing director for Asia Pacific.

“UL has made significant investments in establishing a network of product testing facilities supported by a team of professional engineers across the country.”

Over the next two years, UL India will expand capabilities aimed at serving 500 business categories, doubling the categories served today. UL India sees major growth potential in sectors including automotive components, medical equipment, electrical products, and information technology equipment.

“UL is the only company in India with the knowledge base of a global caliber to provide conformity assessment service to Indian manufacturing industries and to assist them in capitalizing on global market opportunities, said R.A. Venkitachalam, managing director of UL India.Ul Logo
