McDonald’s accepts UL EPH Mark
  UL's EPH MarkMcDonald’s Corporation has announced that it now accepts UL’s EPH Mark on food service and filtration equipment. UL’s EPH Mark on these products indicates that a product has been certified for sanitation or health effects. The McDonald’s announcement was made in April to 30,000 restaurants and equipment suppliers worldwide.
UL warns of fire hazard with oscillating fans
  In May, UL issued a public notice notifying consumers that oscillating stand fans sold under the brand name “SMC” may pose a risk of fire hazard. The fan cord may be damaged by the fan oscillation after a period of use. The damage to the cord may result in a short circuit and possible ignition of the plastic case. Approximately 2.3 million products hit the market under model numbers SR-18 (manufactured 1997-1999) and SP-18 (manufactured 1999-2001).
UL Taiwan receives accreditation to perform GS Mark and ergonomics testing for ITE products
 

GS MarkUL Taiwan is allowed to test information technology equipment (ITE) for compliance with ergonomics requirements of the GS Mark under supervision of UL DEMKO, which has the recognition from the German Government Organization ZLS as GS-body. The GS Mark Certification will be granted from UL DEMKO.
