Established by the International
Electrotechnical Committee for Conformity Testing to Standards for Electrical
Equipment (IECEE), the CB Scheme is an international system for mutual
acceptance of test reports among participating countries and certification
organizations.
Throughout the world, UL has many offices that are Certified Body Testing
Laboratories (CBTLs) or National Certified Bodies (NCBs) of the CB Scheme.
With one set of testing, UL can obtain the CB Certificate and the CB Report,
with which you can gain acceptance to any markets on earth.
How the CB Scheme works
UL will test the product at one of its IECEE-accredited laboratories.
If the product meets the applicable requirements, UL will
issue a CB Test Certificate and a corresponding CB Test Report
for that product. You can then present those documents to
an NCB in any CB-Scheme participating country and gain national
approval.
In most cases, additional testing is not necessary, because UL will
perform the tests according to the applicable IEC Standard and any national
differences that may be required by the countries to which you want to
market your product.
